Classic and timeless architecture, as experienced during extensive European and American travels, has formed the basis of Halcyon Design's style ethos. Sustainable sensibilities and contemporary detailing add a unique identity to each design.
- Serene, composed, tranquil;
- Denoting a period of time that was idyllically happy and peaceful;
- A mythical bird said by ancient writers to breed in a nest floating at sea at the winter
solstice, charming the wind and waves into calm;
- A short dialogue in which Socrates relates the ancient myth of the Halcyon (a woman
transformed into a bird forever searching the seas in lament) to Chaerephon;
Every project is an opportunity for collaboration and growth in understanding our built environment, how we shape it, and how it informs and shelters us.
We also believe in giving back to our community. From 2005 to 2009 our staff provided pro-bono design and construction documentation service to the St Vrain Valley Habitat for Humanity, which culminated in the housing of 11 families in the Longmont and Carbon Valley areas. We also volunteered with the City of Boulder Building Department to provide free building safety inspection service, as SAP-certified professionals, after the 2013 flood.
"Together we know everything."
We have diverse experience in all aspects of commercial and residential design, with an emphasis on energy efficiency and sustainable practices. We are LEED Accredited Professionals, licensed to practice in Colorado and Pennsylvania, and practice in Colorado's Front Range communities of Frederick, Firestone, Dacono, Longmont, Ft Collins, Loveland, Windsor, Greeley, Boulder, Erie and Ft Lupton.
